I'm just getting back into Illustration Friday after a LONG hiatus (I was in a painting frenzy getting ready for a show). I started doing little sketches of cute bear acrobats, but they felt pretty typical. And then this guy appeared on my page. A drunk creature walking the line. Now if that's not acrobatics, what is?

Yesterday my husband and I went for a drive through the country, and we happened upon these two alpacas. They were just about the cutest creatures I ever saw, and one even gave me a kiss. I just had to put one in a paisley dress.

Yesterday was the 6th anniversary of my dear friend's murder. I took the time to create this for her, as I could think of nothing else.

This is my second IF post, and once again, constructive criticism is MUCH appreciated. I tried gouache this time, and liked it much better. Still testing the waters though.

1st Illustration Friday Attempt: Early

It definitely was too EARLY for Pooch's morning walk.

This is a little scary for me. I am an artist, but generally a realist. I have suddenly become obsessed with illustrations. I think this is because I teach little kids how to draw, and their drawings are so charming. In any case, I am posting this not to look for compliments (however they would be nice), but for constructive criticism. I have an idea of things I might change (like firstly getting the colours right before I post: the colours in this illustration are much more vibrant in real life). But I would dearly love to improve my techniques, and I am asking for help here. So fire away!
